Originally founded as VicWISE in 2016, we began as a Melbourne-based NGO focused on empowering international students to achieve their career aspirations through advocacy,collaboration, and support. Over the years,we’ve expanded our networks, and enhanced our services, particularly during the pandemic.

VicWISE was established in 2016 by a group of 12 members with a mission to empower international students through advocacy, collaboration, and tailored career support, ensuring equal opportunities for individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
2018
By 2018, VicWISE had grown its professional membership and secured a Study Melbourne grant, enabling the delivery of four networking events attended by over 400 professionals, employers, and international student graduates.
2019
In 2019, VicWISE officially registered as a non-government organisation, introducing a formal governance structure, membership model, and brand identity, while significantly expanding its professional network and establishing a strong international student volunteer base.
2019
During the COVID-19 pandemic, VicWISE provided critical support to international students facing job loss, financial hardship, housing insecurity, and mental health challenges, responding quickly to urgent needs within the community.
2020
Amid border closures and restrictions in 2020, VicWISE transitioned its programs and services into digital formats, maintaining engagement with students and professionals while rebuilding its membership base and expanding support initiatives through to 2022.
2024
In 2024, VicWISE marked a major milestone by partnering with Crown Resorts to deliver a series of workshops across Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth, offering sessions on "Life Skills" facilitated by industry experts for international students.
